  • Published:Thursday, July 20, 2017

With rising economic prosperity in emerging markets and aging populations in many advance economies, demand for healthcare services continues to grow. This is driving investment in new healthcare buildings globally.

The CIC is currently tracking healthcare construction projects globally with a total value of over US$406 billion. This pipeline comprises projects from the announced to execution stages. The Americas region has the highest-value project pipeline, at US$138.2 billion, equivalent to 34% of the global total.

Europe’s mature healthcare market is being driven by the aging population of ‘baby boomers’, which will require more primary healthcare and nursing facilities over the next three decades.
